Supervision Services

The Relational team has a combined strength of over 50 years of clinical experience in the mental health field. We can systematically provide clinical supervision for doctoral and master's level students as well as practitioners in psychology, counselling, addiction therapy and other mental health related professions.

Our approach to clinical supervision is that of an integrated, multi-dimensional orientation. Our background in systems theory, cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, post-modern theories, and psychodynamic therapy will enrich and empower supervisees from different backgrounds and theoretical orientations.

When do you need supervision?

Supervision is most appropriate for the professionals who:

  • Encounter an impasse or reach a stalemate in their case
  • Are unable to obtain clinical expertise in their work place
  • Have to deal with difficult clients
  • Need supervision for their graduate course requirement
  • Want to grow and learn new clinical ideas
  • Want expert feedback in a legal situation

Clinical Supervision is conducted by Dr Richard Lim, Aarti Chidamabram and Kimi Shaabi—the core team members with the following format:

Individual Supervision
Supervision is provided individually and lasts 50 minutes. In most cases, individual supervision is provided on a weekly or as-needed basis.

Group Supervision
Group supervision is provided for no more than six supervisees. In most cases, group supervision lasts one and a half hours and is conducted on a weekly or as-needed basis.

Unless requested, all supervision is conducted at The Relational. By special arrangement, supervision can be conducted on-site.
