Counsellor
Idelle is a counsellor, writer and researcher with on-ground experience in the social sector, as well as extensive intercultural and multilingual research experience. Ongoing research and writing interests include trauma and resiliency, worldbuilding, Southeast and East Asian mythologies and speculative fiction, theatre and film criticism, the theology of peacemaking and reconciliation, and the pursuit of excellent sushi.
In her counselling practice, Idelle employs psychodynamic approaches in confluence with acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based interventions. As a long-time acolyte of the arts, Idelle often uses mediums such as poetry and song to facilitate therapeutic outcomes. At present, she finds meaning in journeying alongside a wide range of clients, especially young women navigating relationship issues, religious trauma, anxiety-based disorders and depression. Together with her clients, Idelle negotiates what developing resiliency might look like in each unique individual's life.
