Mara Hubana offers counselling and psychotherapy across the developmental stages – child, adolescent, adult, couple and family counselling.
Mara Hubana is a counsellor with a Master's Counselling (Advanced - Family Therapy) degree from Swinburne University in Australia. She has since worked with individuals, couples, and families from various backgrounds who are dealing with a variety of emotional and behavioural issues. Prior to becoming a psychologist, she worked in the technology and finance industries in several countries, gaining an understanding of different cultures and worldviews. Her professional experiences have taught her the importance of prioritizing mental health and assisting individuals going through life transitions by assisting them within the system (family, religion, work, school, friends and their values and beliefs).
Throughout her sessions, Mara employs research-based therapeutic approaches such as the Person-Centered Approach, Psychodynamic Therapy, Systemic and Structural Family Therapy, and Solution Focus Brief Therapy (SFBT). She uses Positive Psychology to tailor her sessions to the needs of each client. In addition to being trained and certified in Transactional Analysis, Mara has completed Level 1 Practicum Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Currently, Mara uses Gottman Connect, a program that assists committed couples in building their friendship and resolving crucial relationship issues (e.g., improving communication, managing conflict, and facing new life stages such as a new baby or divorce).
Her professional experience includes performance enhancement, habit control, depression, anxiety, grief, attachment issues, eating disorder, boarding school syndrome, cultural adaptation, and relationship challenges. Mara is enthusiastic about assisting people with self-development, such as boosting self-confidence and overcoming traumatic experiences. She is devoted to bringing out the best in her customers and assisting them in making progress by working closely with them.
Mara has over a decade of experience working in international companies. Before moving to Singapore, she worked in Argentina, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and the United States, gaining diverse experience working with and connecting with people of many cultures. She is conversant in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
